Poison Ivy Becoming more Potent

We've all had a brush with Poison ivy on a trail run and depending on your natural tolerance it can leave a nasty reminder of an otherwise great trail.

After suspected contact with poison ivy it's important to wash thoroughly as quickly as possible after your run.  When possible avoid touching the area that came in contact with the poison ivy.  It is the oil from the poison ivy plant which causes the allergic reaction so it's important to not spread the oil.  The oil can last on clothing so its important to wash the clothing as soon as possible also to make sure you don't spread it to other non-affected parts.
